Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Module II: Advanced Techniques with Melylah Botté Smith

One of the most powerful ways to create healing in society is to support those who are birthing our future. Folk is a leading national center for prenatal yoga teacher training, with graduates successfully teaching throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe. Our program is one of few that offers Yoga Alliance registration as a Prenatal Yoga School (the only nationally-recognized standard for prenatal yoga teacher training), giving our graduates an assurance of quality and a unique advantage in becoming a Yoga Alliance® Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®).

Folk's Prenatal Yoga Training, led by Melylah Smith (RPYT 500), lays a strong foundation for understanding the emotional, physical, and mental impact of pregnancy and birth in today’s world and birthing culture.

This robust training is divided into two 5-day modules. In Module II: Advanced Techniques, you will learn to artfully sequence and teach complete prenatal classes. In this module, you will gain an understanding of how to:

  • Create, theme, and sequence supportive, welcoming, and transformational prenatal classes
  • Support pregnant students in the 4th trimester
  • Use restorative yoga in your classes
  • Teach partner yoga for pregnancy
  • Teach “Baby & Me” yoga classes
  • Understand common postpartum discomforts
  • Practice self-care as a prenatal yoga guide
  • Birth your prenatal yoga teaching business!

This module includes additional offerings by a diverse group of guest teachers.Throughout this training, you will be guided through profound conversations centered around how to collectively heal and grow as a society by uplifting birthing people regardless of race, class, or gender identity. Module II: Advanced Techniques is recommended for yoga teachers who feel passionate about prenatal yoga and want to become a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®). It is also recommended for pregnant students, themselves, as well as birth workers and educators.

**Please note: Module I: Foundations is a prerequisite for this module. Both modules are required for those wishing to become a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®). Alternatively, this module can be taken on its own by those already possessing a RPYT certification for additional CEUs.**
